IU teachers form human chain protesting attack on VC
Teachers of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia formed a human chain on Sunday protesting the attack on Vice Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari.
Islamic University Teachers’ Association (IUTA) formed the human chain around 11am on the premises of the faculty building.
IU Pro-VC prof M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer prof M Selim Toha, former IUTA president professor M Mahbubur Rahman, prof M Tozammel Hossain and proctor prof M Mahbubar, among others, took part in the human chain, presided over by IUTA president prof M Mizanur Rahman.
IUTA secretary prof M Waliullah conducted the programme while officials and students also attended.
The teachers demanded immediate exemplary punishment to those involved in the attack.
The IU VC narrowly escaped unhurt from an attack launched on him on the Kushtia-Jhenidah road early Friday.
