Indian national dies in clash between rival groups at Dinajpur border
An Indian national died in sequel to clash between two rival groups of drug peddlers over transaction of money at Daudpur border under Birampur upazila in Dinajpur district on Friday.

Four persons including a Bangladeshi union parishad member were injured in the clash.

Alim Uddin, 45, son of Harmuz Ali of village Jamalpur, died on Friday afternoon.

Locals said one Manik Islam, an inhabitant of village Dakkhin Daudpur under Birampur upazila of Dinajpur district had an altercation with Alim Uddin over the dues of drug trading at about 3:00pm on Thursday. On Friday, they both visited a jame mosque situated between Pillar Numbers 289/25 and 26 to offer Jumma prayer there. At that time, they again locked in altercation. At one stage, both sides received involved in beating the other person and locked in clashes with local made weapons. Through the clash, Alim Uddin died of coronary attack, and four folks of both sides had been injured.

The injured are Moinul Islam, 35 of late Mohir Uddin Kabiraj of village Dakkhin Daudpur no. 2 Katla UP member under Birampur upazila, and his elder brother Mominul Islam, 45 in Bangladesh side, while Alam Hossain and Asirul Islam of village Jamalpur in the Indian side. Later, Moinul Islam and Mominul Islam were admitted to Birampur Upazila Health Complex.
