Humayun Ahmed’s 8th death anniversary today
The 8th death anniversary of celebrated playwright, writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed has been observed on Sunday.

He died of cancer at a hospital in NY in 2012.

Different television set channels are airing various programmes highlighting the life span and works of Humayun Ahmed.

Members of the family of the prominent writer and his fans are observing your day through limited programmes which is held at his birth place Netrakona and his most favorite place Nuhash Palli in Gazipur.

Humayun Ahmed was born in Netrakona's Mohanganj to Foyzur Rahman Ahmed and Ayesha Foyez on November 13, 1948.

He won Ekushey Padak, Bangla Academy Award, Lekhak Shibir Award and Michael Madhusudan Padak for his outstanding contributions to the Bangla literature.

The legendary writer received seven Bangladesh National Film Awards in several categories for the films 'Shonkhonil Karagar' (as screenwriter), 'Aguner Poroshmoni', 'Daruchini Dwip' and 'Ghetuputra Komola'.

His son Nuhash Humayun happens to be working in the tv industry as a content-creator.
