Holey Artisan attack accused reveal identity of killed militants
The two people, who were killed during a SWAT operation in Narsingdi on Tuesday, have been identified on Wednesday.
They were Aklima Aktar Moni and Abdullah Al Bangali.
It was disclosed by the two female militants who surrendered to the police from Nilufa Villa at Madhabdi pourasava in Narsingdi on Wednesday.
The surrendered women are: Neo JMB members Khadiza Akhter Meghna and Ishrat Jahan Mou. They both are students of Pharmacy Department of Manarat University. Deceased Moni was their friend.
The two female militants were accused in Holey Artisan Bakery attack case, said Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit Chief of DMP Monirul Islam to newsmen in Narsingdi on Wednesday afternoon, reports BSS.
“We have managed to make Neo-JMB members Khadiza Akter Meghla and Mou, both students of Manarat International University and are on bail in Holey Artisan Bakery attack case, surrender at around 2.30pm and sent them to the capital for further interrogation,” Monirul Islam said.
The CTTC boss said the militants on October 5 took on rent two flats, one in Madhabdi and another in Shekher Char.
“Of the two arrestees, Meghla’s husband too is an active member of Neo-JMB. We have also recovered a couple of bombs from the militant hideout and are trying to defuse those,” Monirul added.
Onlookers said the arrestees were put on a special vehicle of Special Weapons and Tactic (SWAT) team with helmets on their heads and taken away from the scene swiftly.
A case was filed under the anti-terrorism act with Madhabdi Police Station against the duo, BSS added.
