'Hiron Kiron Chhobikhani'
Recitation organization Muktak Padabali paid tribute to Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore organizing a cultural evening titled 'Hiron Kiron Chhobikhani' at National Art Gallery Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital on Saturday.

Muktak Padaboli, arranged the event which featured the songs and poetry of Rabindranath and poetry devoted to him. The singers and elocutionists from Bangladesh and India performed at the event.

Veteran Bangladeshi poet Nirmalendu Goon attended the event as chief guest, while poet Dr Mohammad Samad, pro-vice chancellor, University of Dhaka, and was present as special guest. The chief guest handed over the crests and uttorio (celebratory scarf) to the performers of the event.

Eminent recitation artiste Molly Debnath from India recited poems titled 'Sadharon Meye', 'Manab Putra', 'Kritaghna', 'Borshar Dine' and 'Mrityunjoy', while Jayanti Soren rendered songs 'Chokher Aloy Dekhechilem', 'Ogo Nodi Apon Bege Pagol Para', 'Modhur Modhur Dwani Baje', 'Tumi Kon Kanoner Phul' and 'Sharthok Jonom Amar Jonmechhi Ei Deshe'.

Besides, Bangladeshi singer Fahim Hossain Chowdhury rendered songs 'Jibone Amar Joto Anondo', 'Aji Pronomi Tomare Cholibo Nath', 'Sei Valo Sei Valo Amare Na Hoy', 'Amar Khela Jokhon Chhilo Tomar Sone', 'Aro Koto Dure Achhe Se' and 'Keno Chokher Jole Vijiye Dile'. Prominent elocutionists Mohammad Ahkam Ullah, Rashed Hasan and Laila Afroze recited poems. News presenter Dewan Saidul Hasan conducted the event.
