Hajj registration under govt guidance begins Thursday
The final registration process of the Hajj pilgrims for 2018 under the government management will begin on Thursday.

The process will continue till March 11, said a press release issued by the Religious Affairs Ministry on Wednesday, reports UNB.

Earlier on February 22, the ministry published a list of serial numbers of Hajj pilgrims, who will be able to enroll in the final Hajj registration this year.

Off them, pre-registrants with serial numbers up to 16073 are asked to complete their registration by submitting the rest amount of their respective package to any branch of Sonali Bank (A/C no. 00023300908, Local branch, Motijheel), the press release said.

The pilgrims have been asked to fill up registration voucher along with 'Mahram' with the help of Union Digital Centres (UDCs), Islamic Foundation, district administration offices or Hajj offices in Dhaka.

Pilgrims under both packages (Tk 397,929 and Tk 331,359) have been asked to submit the rest amount after deducting Tk 28,000 which was paid during the pre-registration.

Those who performed Hajj in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well those who got Saudi visas last year but did not perform Hajj are asked to submit 2,100 Saudi Riyals (Tk 46,935), if they want to perform Hajj this time.

The Hajj pilgrims have also been asked to submit scanned copies of passports during the e-Hajj registration process, it added.

According to the Hajj agreement with Saudi Arabia, a total of 127,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh will be able to perform hajj this year. Of them, 7,198 will perform hajj under the government management and 120,000 under private management.

The hajj is likely to be held on August 21 this year subject to the moon sighting.
