Green Line gets time till Apr 10 to pay compensation
The High Court has given Green Line Paribahan till April 10 to pay Tk 50 lakh to Russell Sarkar, who lost his left leg after being hit by a bus of the company on Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in city's Jatrabari.
An HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order on Thursday.
The court also ordered the company to submit a compliance report on that day.
It warned that the transport group cannot sell it ticketsfor April 11 if fails to pay the money within the stipulated time.
Green Line Paribahan cannot sell tickets on April 11 if it does not pay Tk 50 lakh compensation to Russel Sharker by April 10, the High Court passed the order today.
Earlier in the day, the High Court summoned the Green Line Paribahan manager to appear before it by 2.00 pm to explain why the compensation has yet been paid to Russell Sarkar.
Green Line's General Manger Abdus Sattar appeared before the HC around 2:00pm following summon.
