Good time to show up
Juergen Klopp praised his side for a brave performance as they finished their worrying slump on form with an impressive 3-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur on the Premier League in Thursday.
The champions had opted five league games with out a win, the last four without scoring, but looked a lot more like their formidable selves as goals by Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane secured the points.
Victory lifted Liverpool back to fourth place even though they remain four points behind leaders Manchester City, Klopp said it had been a reminder they have not gone away.
"It was good. It had been necessary as well, to be honest! It was an excellent moment to show up a little bit," Klopp told reporters.
"We remain here, so that's very good to learn. Now we go back home and then we keep coming back in a couple of hours to play West Ham."
Firmino's goal found in first-half stoppage time finally released the shackles for Klopp's side who threatened every time they went forward in the second half.
"I am thrilled about the performance and, yes, it's about the boys. They set a proper shift in," he stated.
