Golam Sarwar's body to be brought at night; Last respect on Thursday
The body of Daily Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar who died in a Singapore hospital on Monday night, will be brought on Tuesday night.

A flight of Singapore Airlines (SQ 446), carrying the body, is likely to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 10:35pm, according to a source in Daily Samakal.   

On arrival, the body will be first taken to the Uttara residence of the veteran journalist and later kept at the BIRDEM mortuary for night.

Golam Sarwar's body will be taken to his village home in Banaripara upazila of Barishal on Wednesday morning. 

On Thursday, the mortal remains of the Ekushey Padak winning journalist will be taken to his Samakal office at 9am and then to Central Shaheed Minar premises at 11am for a cross section of people to pay their last respects.

After Namaz-e-janaza at the National Press Club and last respect by his colleagues, Golam Sarwar will be laid to rest at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard after Asr prayers on Thursday. 

The Samakal Editor died at Singapore General Hospital at 9:25pm on Monday at the age 75.

The eminent journalist of the country was admitted to LabAid Hospital in Dhaka on 29 July being attacked by pneumonia.

He was air lifted to Singapore on August 3 for better treatment as his condition deteriorated.

He was put on life support on as his blood pressure fell on Monday afternoon.
