Global Covid-19 updates: Total cases soar to 78.6 million
The COVID-19  cases worldwide have exceeded 78.6 million with over 1.7 million fatalities on Thursday, in line with the most up-to-date tally from Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
 
The total case count reached 78,623,752 as the total death toll rose to at least one 1,729,166.

The cases in the US topped 18.4 million, as the loss of life toll climbed to 326,088.

New Stimulus Package

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday asked the Financing Ministry and various other relevant ministries and divisions to formulate another fiscal stimulus package remember the ‘second wave’ of Covid-19.

The Primary Minister issued the order at a gathering held at her official residence Ganobhaban to finalise the 8th Fifth Year Plan (2021-2025).
