DHAKA: Police recovered the body of a young girl, a receptionist at a dental clinic in Badda area of Dhaka, from inside her workplace on Friday evening (February 2).
None has been arrested yet over the suspected murder. Police is running investigation to unearth the reasons behind. Nazrul Islam Haider, the owner and the guard of the clinic were taken to the custody for interrogation.
Liza, 21, the deceased, was a receptionist at Haider Dental Clinic in Moddo Badda area. Hailed from Taltola area under Borguna upazila of Barishal, Liza was a student of Taltola Degree College. She married one Arafat Rahman mere two years ago.
Mozibur Rahman, father-in-law of the girl, told Banglanews that Liza had been working at the clinic for three months. Her duty time was 9:00am-9:30pm.
“She went there (her workplace) today like the other days. At the noon, the clinic owner called me over phone and said that Liza has fallen sick. I saw the blood-tainted body of Liza after going there”, Mozibur added.
While visiting the clinic, the bloodstains were found before the door inside. Liza was hit from back while killing, said police.
“As many as 11 wound marks in her back, two in the wrists and two under the right ear were found.”
“It is being suspected that Liza tried to flee during the murder. The murderer stabbed her from the back”, police said further.
Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Wazed Ali told Banglanews that the investigation is now in primary stage. It is not clear yet who has/have killed her.
However, in spite of having a CCTV camera installed before the clinic gate, police didn’t find any footage from it.
“We found the CCTV camera out of whack. It will be confirmed whether the camera was made inoperative before the murder or was the same since earlier, once the forensic report is received”, added the OC.
However, a case is underway over the murder, he added.
