Former Atletico, Real Madrid and Barca instructor Antic dies
Serbian coach Radomir Antic, the sole person to control Atletico Madrid, True Madrid and Barcelona, died over Monday at age 71 carrying out a long illness.
"The Atletico de Madrid family is mourning the passage of Radomir Antic, one of our legendary coaches. You will forever reside in our hearts. Rest in peace," the golf club tweeted.
Spanish sports daily Marca stated Antic have been suffering from a significant illness for a long period.
Antic, who primary moved to Spain as a new player with Real Zaragoza on 1978, managed Atletico across three numerous spells between 1995 and 2000 and led the club to a league and cup dual in his primary season.
He also coached Barcelona during the second the main 2002-03 plan after replacing the sacked Louis van Gaal. His 1st stint at one of Spain's big clubs came throughout a 10-month spell with Real in 1991-92.
On the international level, he led his native Serbia to the 2010 World Cup, where his team beat Germany 1-0 in the group stage but didn't advance to the knockout rounds.
The Serbian soccer federation paid tribute to Antic since it confirmed the news headlines of his death on its website.
"All those who knew Radomir will to any extent further have an emptiness within their center and Serbia can be proud to have had such a gentleman who was abroad and represented a good source of satisfaction," the federation said.
After departing Partizan Belgrade in 1976 to sign for Fenerbahce, Antic relocated to Zaragoza for just two years before finishing his career in England with Luton Town.
He helped the club achieve advertising to the English best flight in 1982, and scored the target that helped them stay up on the ultimate day of the next season.
