Foreign Minister holds meeting with Bernicat
Foreign Affairs Minister AH Mahmood Ali sat in a meeting with outgoing US Ambassador to Dhaka Marcia Bernicat Monday (August 6) evening.
The meeting held at the minister’s residence for around two hours.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam and Secretary M Shahidul were present.
What was discussed in the meeting couldn’t be known immediately.
On Sunday (August 5), US embassy in Dhaka said in a statement that Marcia Bernicat's vehicle was attacked by armed men in the capital’s Mohammadpur area Saturday night (August 4).
The statement appreciated the roles of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and security officials over the incident.
Sources said that police is investigating the matter with due importance.
