Flood forces 34 Lalmonirhat schools suspend classes
As many as 34 schools have stopped taking classes as many parts of the district got inundated in flood triggered by heavy downpour and onrush of water from upstream over past few days.  

Water level of Teesta river was measured at 52.97cm, at Teesta Barrage Dalia Point at 3pm Saturday, showing flood situation worsened in the district. 

As many as 20,000-25,000 families were marooned in several upazilas.

Local sources said 26 primary and 8 high schools have stopped academic activities while some school buildings are being used as shelter to the flood affected.

Teesta Barrage Dalia part executive engineer Rabiul Islam told Banglanews that all of the water gates have been unlocked to control the water rush.
