First hajj flight leaves Dhaka for Jeddah
The first hajj flight for the year 2018 (Hijri 1439) carrying 419 pilgrims left here for Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia Saturday (July 14).
The fight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines took off Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:45am.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines General Manager Shakil Meraj confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
On Wednesday (July 11), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the hajj activities at Ashkona hajj camp.
A total of 1,26,198 Bangladeshi pilgrims will fly Jeddah for the pilgrimage this year.
The government will organize the flights for 6,198 pilgrims while the flights for rest 1,20,000 will be organized under private agencies.
A total of 528 agencies have been allowed to organize hajj journeys this year.
