Fahad murder charge sheet submission soon: Monirul
Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Monirul Islam said charge sheet in the sensational BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case will be filed soon.
Monirul, also the chief of DMP’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, came up with the observations while addressing UCB Public-Parliament Debate Competition organised by Debate for Democracy at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on Friday (November 1).
19 persons were accused in the case. Police arrested 21 persons. Out of these 21 people, 7 have been given confessional statements at court. More names could be included in the charge sheet. Those who are involved in the murder are miscreants, culprits. Thy can not be members of political parties, he said.
Debate for Democracy Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron presided over
the function.
Abrar Fahad, aged 21, a student of electrical and electronic engineering department at BUET, was tortured to death reportedly by BCL leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university on October 7.
