Facebook launches advertising campaign to encourage Americans to vote
Facebook is launching a new initiative this week to inspire Americans to vote found in the upcoming presidential election, the most recent work by the social network to prove this is a responsible player on the internet.

The tech titan will start Monday an enormous campaign encouraging people to visit its virtual voting information centers where they are able to look up how exactly to register to vote, how to vote by mail or how exactly to volunteer to just work at polling stations on Election Evening.

The marketing campaign will be broadcast on major US tv and radio channels, along with online news outlets.

Since Saturday, Facebook has shared identical information on its app, and also the software for Instagram and Messenger, both which it owns.

The Silicon Valley giant is also likely to stream an hour-long program Tuesday called “Vote-A-Thon 2020.” The particular will feature superstars and public figures and can urge people to join up and vote.

Facebook estimated that it has recently helped 2.5 million persons register to vote.

“We've more work to do to reach our goal of supporting a lot more than 4 million persons register this season, but we’re pleased with the improvement we’re making to help people use their voices to vote,” Facebook said on a statement.

A total around 39 million persons have already visited the virtual voting information centres on Facebook and Instagram.

With this newest push, Facebook is wanting to show that it is no longer a way of massive disinformation as it was ahead of key votes in 2016, notably the US presidential election and the Brexit referendum in britain.

Both polls were plagued by disguised disinformation campaigns mainly orchestrated out of Russia.

For example, Facebook announced in the beginning of September that very little new political ads will be shared on its program in the week before the US presidential election on November 3.

Like additional internet giants, over the past few months Facebook has increased its quantity of reports about thwarted cyber attacks and dismantled disinformation operations.
