Ex-lawmaker Shamsul Haque dies of coronavirus
Former Jatiya Party (Ershad) lawmaker Shamsul Haque Talukder Chhanu has died of coronavirus at a city hospital. He was 75.
He died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital on Sunday night.
Shamsul Haque left out his wife, one son, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
The former MP was admitted to Specialised Hospital in Shamoly on September 2 with coronavirus infection.
He was shifted to the BSMMU on September 19 following deterioration of his condition.
Shamsul Haque had been elected Bhuapur Upazila Parishad Chairman twice.
He was elected MP from Tangail-2 constituency on JP (Ershad) ticket in 1986.
