Etihad temporarily cuts personnel wages by up to 50pc
Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has temporarily cut personnel salaries by up to 50 % for a month as a result of impact on its business from the coronavirus outbreak.

Executives, pilots and engineers can be paid half their standard salaries and cabin crew will be paid 25 per cent less found in April, the airline said found in a statement.

Other employees would likewise have their salaries cut and staff wouldn't normally be paid their typical transport and different job-related allowances, it said.

Etihad, from April 5, has been operating “numerous outbound flights to help foreign citizens return home from Abu Dhabi”.

“Repatriation flights begins with Seoul Incheon, accompanied by destinations such as Melbourne, Singapore, Manila, Jakarta and Amsterdam,” according to a travelling alert posted on Etihad’s website.

The travel alert also listed the flights it ideas to use through April 21, including six more to Seoul, five to Singapore, six to Manila and two to Jakarta.

The airline in March reported an USD 870 million loss for 2019, its fourth consecutive gross annual loss. It has shed USD 5.6 billion since 2016.
