Emirates, flydubai reactivate codeshare partnership
Following the progressive resumption of passenger flights to global destinations, both Dubai-based airlines Emirates and flydubai have revived their successful and strategic partnership to provide customers increased connectivity, convenience and travel flexibility.
Emirates customers can now travel on codeshare flights to over 30 destinations on flydubai, while flydubai customers have over 70 destinations they are able to happen to be on Emirates.
Commenting on the renewal of the partnership, Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates, said, “We are delighted to announce our customers can once more take benefit of the complementary strengths of Emirates and flydubai to access an improved network of cities about the same ticket and integrated loyalty programme, enjoy a safe, smooth and stress-free transfer experience through Dubai and have their baggage checked to their final destination.”
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer, flydubai, said, “flydubai has restarted businesses to 32 points around the network since June and we expect the quantity to steadily grow over another few months.”
Both airlines have each implemented considerable safety precautions to combat COVID-19 at every step of the customer’s journey including increased sanitisation of all touch points and advanced HEPA filters built in aircraft cabins to get rid of dust, allergens and germs from the cabin air.
COVID-19 PCR tests are mandatory for all inbound and transit customers to Dubai further assuring a safe transfer experience through the airport for customers of Emirates and flydubai. Customers boarding Emirates flights may also be given a complimentary hygiene kit containing masks, gloves, hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes.
To improve customers’ confidence Emirates has committed to cover COVID-19 related medical expenses, free of cost, should they be identified as having COVID-19 throughout their travel. This also contains travel on any codeshare flights with flydubai on an Emirates ticket.
The partnership between Emirates and flydubai first arrived to effect in October 2017. In August 2018, flydubai adopted Emirates Skywards as its loyalty programme, allowing customers to earn much more Skywards Miles and Tier Miles.
