Elderly couple doped to death in Demra, house looted
An elderly couple died after a gang of female criminals had looted their house by making them unconscious though poisonous materials at Sarulia in Demra area of Dhaka on Sunday afternoon (August 26).
The deceased were identified as Sahera Khatun, 60, and her husband Abdus Satthar, 75.
Quoting neighbors, Md Aminul Islam, son of the deceased, told Banglanews: “4/5 women entered our house on the pretext of renting a flat in the afternoon. They put Mehndi over my parents’ heads. They stayed in the house for a long time. As I went to office in the morning, and my wife and children were in our village home.”
“After awhile, sensing silence, neighbors discovered that my parents were lying unconscious. The total house was a mess. I took my parents to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), at neighbors’ assistance. First off, doctors declared my mother dead, later my father,” he added.
“Police were dispatched to the spot. Details will be given later,” said Siddiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Demra Police Station.
