Educationist Borhan Uddin Khan Jahangir dies
Eminent educationist Professor Borhan Uddin Khan Jahangir passed on on Monday because of old age complications. 

The 84-year-old educationist breathed his last at his Gulshan residence at 12 noon.

Jahangir's niece Fatema Mamoon, wife of writer and historian Muntassir Mamoon, confirmed media about the problem.

The Ekushey Padak winning writer is scheduled to be buried at his village home in Kachua of Chandpur this evening.

He was awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1969.

BSS adds: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of eminent educationist, litterateur and art-critic Dr Borhanuddin Khan Jahangir.

In a condolence message, the prime minister said the working life of Ekushey Padak-winning educationist will continue steadily to inspire all.

Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
