DSE, CSE indices witnessing fall
Trading on the country's both bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange - is underway with downward trends in early hours on Monday as cautious investors were on selling spree.

After first one hour of day's trading, DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, went down by 25.51 points or 0.43 percent to reach 5,806.61 points at 11:49 am.

The two other indices also edged lower. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also lost 8.69 points or 0.40 percent to reach at 2,133 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also shed over 5.66 points or 0.41 percent to stand at 1,355.68 points.

Turnover, an important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 1,071 million riding on National Tubes and Square Pharma.

Of the issues traded till then, 85 advanced, 150 declined, and 71 remained unchanged.

National Tubes Limited was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 87.76 million with changing hands till then followed by Square Pharmaceutical, IBN Sina Pharmaceuticals, Unique Hotel & Resorts and IFAD Autos.

The port city bourse - Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - also witnessed downward trend in early hours with its Selective Category Index losing 41.80 points to 10,825.92 also at 11:56 am.

Of the issues traded till then, 27 gained, 83 declined and 26 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 46.26 million.
