Donald Trump finally wears facemask in public areas
US President Donald Trump has worn a good mask in public areas for the first time since the start of coronavirus pandemic.
The president was visiting the Walter Reed army medical center outside Washington, where he met wounded soldiers and healthcare workers.
"I've hardly ever been against masks but I do believe they possess a time and a location," he said as he left the White colored House.
He has previously said that he'd not wear a good mask and mocked Democratic rival Joe Biden for doing this.
But on Saturday he said: "I think if you are in a medical center, especially in that particular environment, where you're talking to a whole lot of soldiers and persons that, occasionally, simply just got off the operating tables, I believe it's an excellent thing to wear a good mask."
Speaking to Fox Business Network the other day, Mr Trump explained: "I'm all pertaining to masks."
He added that he "type of liked" how he looked with a single on, likening himself to the Lone Ranger, a good fictional masked hero who with his Native American friend, Tonto, fought outlaws found in the American Out of date West.
But when the united states Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in April started out recommending persons wear masks or cloth coverings in public to greatly help stop the pass on of the virus, Mr Trump told reporters he'd not follow the practice.
"I don't think I'm going to be doing it," he said back then. "Wearing a nose and mouth mask as I greet presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens - I just don't view it."
Some media reports have suggested aides have repeatedly asked the president to wear one in public.
