Digital library opened in Abbottabad
The British Council on Tuesday opened a digital library here at the Tech Valley.

The students and information technology experts attended the event in large numbers.

British Council country director Rosemary Hilhorst, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said the library would benefit both young learners and researchers and would help strengthen ties between the two countries.

She said the facility would serve as a hub for ongoing efforts meant to create educational opportunities, share knowledge and foster a learning environment, where creativity and innovation were valued.

“This initiative will really help build the capacity of teachers, students, youths, entrepreneurs and innovators, which is one of the primary goals of the Tech Valley,” she said.

Ms Hilhorst said the digital library would connect the locals with the world.

She said she was immensely happy to be at the Tech Valley and would like to see such places across the country.

Ms Hilhorst promised the continuous support of the British Council for the purpose.

Tech Valley director Abbas Khan welcomed the initiative and said the local residents would benefit from it.

He said the British Council deserved praise for working for the better Pakistan-UK cultural ties.
