'Debi' premieres in Canada
After winning the hearts of local film lovers, Jaya Ahsan produced film 'Debi' has hit cinemas in Canada.The film was released in the cinemas of Toronto and Mississauga on Friday.
It will later be released in four more Canadian cities namely Winnipeg, Edmond, Surrey and Calgary on November 30, informed Saikot Salahuddin, chief executive of Swapna Scarecrow Inc, Bangladesh.
'Debi' was earlier released at cinemas in the USA. Swapna Scarecrow Inc is the film's international distributor.'Debi', directed by Anam Biswas, is an adaption of Human Ahmed's popular psychoanalytical novel with the same name.
The film features psychiatrist Misir Ali's study of Ranu and her ESP powers.The government-grant winning film, produced by Jaya Ahsan, was released on October 19 in 26 cinemas in the divisional towns of the country and reportedly had houseful shows.
Chanchal Chowdhury, Jaya Ahsan, Iresh Zaker, Sabnam Faria and Animesh Aich respectively perform as Misir Ali, Ranu, Ahmed Saber, Nilu and Ranu's Husband Anis in the film.
