Daulatdia-Paturia ferry services resume after 4-hr
The ferry services on Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed Tuesday morning after a four-hour halt due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
Earlier, the authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) temporality halted the services on the route around 4:30 am to avoid accident.
Mahiuddin Rasel, assistant manager (Commercial) of BIWTC at Paturia Ferry ghat that the services resumed around 8:30 am when the density of fog decreases.
Ferries with vehicles and passengers on board, which remained stick at mid Padma, left for respective destination, he added.
He also said that more than 100 vehicles have remained stuck at ghats due to ferry service suspension.
