Dancer, actress Zinnat Barkatullah moved to intensive health care in 'critical condition'
Dancer and actress Zinnat Barkatullah offers been moved to the Intensive Good care Unit of an exclusive hospital found in Dhaka after falling "critically ill".She was admitted to a healthcare facility on Dec 22, Minu Haque, president of Bangladesh Dancers Association, said on Saturday. "She actually is in a critical point out," she explained, citing Zinnat's actress girl Bijori Barkatullah.
Bijori in a Facebook content said Zinnat was put on artificial ventilation. Zinnat's dancer partner Mohammad Barkatullah passed away on Aug 3 this season of coronavirus.Zinnat had as well caught COVID-19 at that time, but later tested negative.
After beginning her career in dance in the 70s, she played a leading purpose in the cultural motion in post-Liberation War Bangladesh. She was students of dance maestro Gazi Alimuddin Mannan at the age of 4. She as well learnt dance at the Bulbul Academy of Good Arts or BAFA.She learnt Indian classical dance forms Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Manipuri but chose folk dance finally. Kajori Barkatullah is definitely her other daughter. Zinnat became a member of the Performing Arts Academy of Dhaka University after completing graduation from the Division of Social Welfare.
She performed regularly in TV during the post-independence period while producers like Amanul Haque, Laila Hasan, Rahija Khanam Jhunu and Barkat Ullah were creating various dance dramas. Afterwards, she joined as a development director of music and dance drama at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy where she served for 27 years.
Zinnat's acting career commenced with it drama "Maria Amar Maria" found in 1980. Her using skirt and trousers in the drama developed a storm of criticism among the conservatives in those days. She was also part of the cast of Tv set soup operas "Ghore Baire", "Osthai Nibas", "Boro Bari", and "Kotha Bola Moyna", among others. The artist is an advisor to Bangladesh Dancers Association, Nrityanchal and Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela.
