Covid-19: KSA suspends all int’l passenger flights till Dec 27
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on December 20 announced to suspend all international passenger flights for one week from December 21-27 in response to a fresh strain of the coronavirus.
Entry to the Kingdom through land and sea ports in addition has been suspended and this period may be extended by another week later.
The decisions were manufactured in response to the emergence of a potent new strain of the virus in the UK and other Europe.
Some flights will be allowed in exceptional circumstances, according to reports.
Anyone who has returned to the Kingdom from Europe or high-risk countries after December 8 is required to quarantine for two weeks from the date of their arrival. They need to also undergo a COVID-19 test throughout their self-isolation period and repeat the test every five days.
Whoever has returned from or transited through a European or high-risk country in the last three months must undergo the test.
The movement of goods, commodities and offer chains from countries where in fact the mutated virus hasn't appeared will continue as usual.
These travel restrictions will be reviewed relative to coronavirus related developments.
Following a move, airlines operating to and from the united states also announced flight suspensions till December 27. Biman Bangladesh Airlines is among the carriers which made the announcement. It operates flights to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam of Saudi Arabia, which is halted till further notice.
