Comedian Bharti, her husband arrested for cannabis possession
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa on Saturday. The couple was taken up to the NCB's Mumbai office for questioning after the anti-medicine agency recovered a "small level of cannabis" during a search of their house on Saturday morning. 

Footage from exterior their residence - an apartment complex found in Andheri - showed Bharti appearing driven away in a good red Mercedes, even while Haarsh was used a light NCB van. "She (Bharti) and her hubby have already been detained for questioning about possession of narcotics chemicals," Sameer Wankhede, among the investigating officials, advised news agency ANI. 

According to some other NCB official, quoted simply by reports agency PTI, Bharti's brand emerged during questioning of a drug peddler; a search of her house recovered a "small quantity of cannabis". The organization also completed searches at two additional locations in Mumbai, the official added. The raids come amid an growing probe - which began with inquiries into the loss of life of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June - into alleged drug use by members of the entertainment sector.

Before this month actor Arjun Rampal's home was searched, and both he and his girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades were summoned for questioning. Ahead of that, the NCB acquired also summoned film maker Firoz Nadiadwala. A evening earlier his wife Shabana Saeed was arrested after investigators allegedly observed 10 grams of marijuana at their home in Mumbai's Juhu throughout a raid.
