'Colors of Bangladesh'
A group photography show titled 'Colors of Bangladesh' portraying diverse culture, religion and nature of Bangladesh is under way at Nalini Kanta Bhattasali auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum.
The three-day exhibition, which commenced on Friday, is featuring a total of 122 photographs by upcoming and seasoned photographers. The show has been curate by photographer Prito Reza and organized by UNESCO's Dhaka office.
The displayed photographs were selected from 1,700 submissions by a three-member jury consisting of Munira Murshid Munni, Prito Reza and Wawi Navarroza.
The photographs depict scenic beauty of Bengal, devotion, religion, childhood memories, diverse seasons, traditional culture, animals and others. To mention a few works, Musaddek Hussen's photograph titled 'Farmer' shows a farmer ploughing paddy field.
Emran Hossain's photograph titled 'Beautiful Kaptai' shows a boatman rowing his boat in the middle of the Kaptai Lake. Abdul Momin's photograph shows a boy holding various flowers. Mohammad Rubel's photograph titled 'Blessings of Bangladesh' shows three Buddhist boys lighting candles. Shammu Azim's photograph titled 'Unbound Childhood' shows five children cheering after playing football.
Tamzeed Alam Token's photograph titled 'Common Kingfisher' shows a kingfisher standing at the top of a lotus flower. Khaled Mohammad Shaad's photograph titled 'Night Market Beside the Rail Lane' shows a kitchen market close to the train tracks.
'The exhibition will project positive image of Bangladesh abroad. It also provides a platform for upcoming photographers to display their works alongside their seniors. Besides displaying photographs, the event also features artist talk and discussion,' Prito Reza said. The exhibition will end on November 17.
