China medical team in Dhaka
Chinese medical team with leading COVID-19 fighters arrived in Dhaka on Monday with a couple of medical equipment.
A flight of Hainan Airlines of China carrying the team landed at Hazrat Shahjalal AIRPORT TERMINAL around 11:20am.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming welcomed them at the airport.
The Chinese National Health Commission organised the visit of the medical team selected by the Hainan Provincial Health Commission.
BSS adds: Within their two-week stay static in Bangladesh, the professionals would visit designated hospitals, quarantine centers, and testing centers, discuss the epidemics with Bangladeshi counterparts, and make calibrated propositions for containment and treatment.
Earlier, the Chinese embassy said the initiative has been taken as among the reflections of Chinese President Xi’s assurance to aid Bangladesh in its combat against the deadly virus
On May 20, Chinese President Xi Jinping called Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and proposed sending a specialist team to greatly help Bangladesh combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Many cooperative measures have been taken by the Chinese side and almost all of which have recently been implemented in Bangladesh because the outbreak here, said the embassy.
Bangladesh up to now reported 888 fatalities from the coronavirus while the caseload surged to 65,769 till Sunday.
