China Harbour distributes foodstuff among flood victims
China Harbour Engineering Enterprise Limited (CHEC), an international enterprise of China has distributed foodstuffs among 1,000 poor households at Roypur Union at Anwara Upazila in Chattogram, which was badly affected by the latest flood. Food items include rice, lentils and preparing food oil.
Relief elements were distributed at a meeting held today, August 9 and was first attended by Sheikh Zobair Ahmed, UNO of Anwara Upazila; Dulal Mahmud, Officer-in-Fee, Anwara Police Station; Jane Alam, Chairman Roypur Union Parishad and CHEC Representative MEA Shazzad among others.
"China has been a trusted good friend and reliable development spouse of Bangladesh through the years. Just lately we noticed that the Bangladesh experienced terrible floods, in fact it is our moral responsibility to increase our helping hands to friendly Bangladeshi persons whenever needed," explained MEA Shazzad.
"During the pandemic we definitely tried to stand next to the Government and support almost 10 thousands persons in different regions of the united states with foodstuff and PPEs. We happen to be focused on fulfilling our corporate cultural responsibilities in future aswell.”
It may be mentioned, China Harbour has been implementing one of the biggest Economic Zones of Bangladesh- Chinese Economic and Industrial Area (CEIZ) on 774.25 acres of land at Anwara. The CEIZ is likely to attract practically USD 1 billion overseas investment and create 60-90 thousand jobs, which will contribute to raise the economy damaged by the COVID-19 pandemic.
