Cabinet approves three hajj packages
The cabinet on Monday (Feb 24) approved the Hajj Package-2020, allowing the pilgrims to execute hajj in three packages beneath the government management.
The approval was presented with in the weekly meeting of the cabinet held at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) here with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam made the disclosure at a press briefing at the secretariat after the Cabinet meeting.
The minimum cost for an intending pilgrim has been fixed at Tk3.15 lakh under package 3 of the government.
Pilgrims will have to pay Tk4.25 lakh to avail package 1, and Tk 3.60 lakh for package 2 beneath the government management, Tk6,500 and Tk16,000 respectively higher from the prior year.
This year, a complete of 137,198 persons will go to Saudi Arabia to execute hajj, with 17,198 of them going under government management, and rest under private management.
