BTRC asked to submit report on mobile tower radiation
Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has been asked by the High Court (HC) to conduct a survey on the radiation from the mobile phone towers and its impact on people and environment.
A bench of Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir on Thursday passed the order after a hearing on a wit filed in this regard.
The court asked BTRC to submit the report within four months, reports BSS.
Lawyers Ekhlas Uddin Bhuiyan, Sarwar Ahad Chowdhury had filed the writ for rights group Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB).
Advocate Manjil Morshed moved the case before the court.
The court in its order asked BTRC to conduct survey on the radiation coming from mobile towers raised on the buildings beside educational institutes, hospitals, playing fields and offices.
