BNP mourns Ahmad Shafi’s death
BNP Secretary Basic Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Fri expressed deep shock at the loss of life of Shah Ahmad Shafi, amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh.
In a condolence message, he said the death of a well known Islamic scholar like Ahmad Shafi as an irreparable loss for the country’s people.
"The persons of the country have been deprived to getting the right route to follow in this world and the hereafter following the demise of the eminent Islamic thinker and scholar Shah Ahmad Shafi,” he said.
As an Islamic scholar, the BNP head said Ahmad Shafi was widely respected. “The united states has lost a dedicated and famous scholar with his death.”
He prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed his profound sympathy to the bereaved members of the family and his followers, admirers and well-wishers.

Allama Shah Ahmed Shafi, the rector of Hathazari Madrasa and chief of Hefazat e Islam, breathed his previous in a medical center in the capital on Fri evening, within a day of resigning from his content at Hathazari in the face of scholar protests. He was 104.
