Blast hits outdoors US Embassy in Tunisia
Two militants about a motorbike blew themselves up beyond your U.S. Embassy in Tunisia on Friday, wounding five cops, authorities said, in the country's most serious strike in months.
The explosion occurred near the embassy's key gate, in which a Reuters journalist saw a scorched, damaged motorbike and a damaged police vehicle lying amid particles as police gathered around and a helicopter whirled overhead. The Interior Ministry said two militants had been killed undertaking the strike, and five law enforcement were injured.
"We heard an extremely powerful explosion ... we noticed the continues to be of the terrorist lying on the floor after he continued the motorbike toward the authorities," explained Amira, a shopkeeper. Sirens could possibly be observed on the major highway linking the Lac district, where the embassy is located, with Tunis and suburbs in the north.
