Birangana Rama Chowdhury passes away
Rama Chowdhury, a writer and one of the 200,000 Biranganas of the Liberation War, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital early Monday.She was 82.
Rama Chowdhrury who had been suffering from old age complications breathed her last around4am, said her private assistant Alauddin Ahmed Khokon.
Rama Chowdhury had been suffering from illness since she sustained fracture in her waist after she fell down at her residence in Boalkhali upazila of the district on December 24, 2017.
The writer had been undergoing treatment at the hospital's freedom fighters' cabin sinceMarch 25last after vomiting blood.
Born at Popadia village in Boalkhali upazila in 1936, Rama Chowdhury fell prey to perverted Pakistani military forces at her residence on May 13, 1971 during the Liberation War.
The freedom fighter wielded her pen and wrote 19 books, including novel, poetry, articles, alongside teaching in high schools.
