'Bengali Beauty' releasing in China
Amid tons of controversy regarding the release and others issues, 'Bengali Beauty', Bangladeshi period romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Rahsaan Noor is now going to be released in China. The film, set in the 70s, is going to be screened in about 100 cinema halls in China after its US release. The film, dubbed in Chinese, will be released in four states of China early next year.

This is the debut film of popular face of small screen in Bangladesh, Mumtaheena Chowdhury Toya. The film was first released on July 20 in Bangladesh but only in one Cineplex.  However, it is now going to be released countrywide on September 21, informed the director Rahsaan Noor. 

Currently Noor is spending his busy time in China from where he informed through Facebook post that, "I had a long meeting with the International Cultural Exchange Minister of China, Cai Duo Wen on September 4. 

In that meeting we decided to release the film early 2019. Although the number of halls have been decided yet; however, the film will be released at least 100 cinemas. There is a big community of Bangladeshi expatriates. We think China can be a very profitable place for our Bangladeshi films."

'Bengali Beauty' stars Noor as a radio deejay and Mumtaheena Toya as a medical student, whom fall in love in Dhaka during political turbulent 1975. Initially scheduled to release in Bangladesh on 9 February, 2018, Bengali Beauty was banned by the Bangladesh Film Censor Board.

However, the film went on to release in the United States on February 16th, 2018, and was praised for its screenplay, direction, music, and the performances of the lead actors, becoming the highest grossing Bengali language film of all-time at the United States Box Office.
