Bangladeshi youth shot dead by Indian Khasias
Members of Indian Khasia community group allegedly shot a young Bangladeshi man to death at Dana bordering area in Khanaighat upazila of Sylhet district on Saturday morning.
Deceased Mamun Uddin, 28, was the son of Jalal Uddin of Sonarkhwar village in the upazila, said Local Union Parishad Chairman Dr Fayaz Ahmed, reports UNB.
He said Mamun went to India illegally on Friday night. A group of Khasia community opened fire on Mamun while he was bringing cattle from India through the border around 9:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tania Sultana and Abdul Ahad, officer in-charge of Khanaighat Police Station, confirmed the matter.
