Bangladeshi skincare manufacturer now selling on Amazon US
Local organic and natural skincare product brand Skin Café has ventured in to the foreign territory following it got the nod to list its products over the Amazon All of us site, a development which can be seen as a trailblazing moment for a Bangladeshi company.
"We will be proud as this is actually the initial Bangladeshi beauty brand to get acceptance from the Food and Medicine Administration (FDA). This is a fantastic achievement by we," Nazmul Sheik, chief executive officer of Skin Café, advised The Daily Superstar yesterday.
Through Amazon, eight Epidermis Café products will be accessible in america and Canada: coconut oil, castor oil, acne care mask, brightening mask, rosewater face and body mist, detox therapeutic clay mask, hair loss treatment and anti-dandruff treatment.
The business has 21 products altogether and is now focusing on getting the FDA certification needed to get them listed on the global e-commerce giant's marketplace.
However, securing the FDA acceptance was no easy activity for the neighborhood start-up, that was established in 2017 with an individual factory in the capital's Vatara area.
Finding great chemists was the key challenge to make international standard cosmetics, Sheik stated, adding that most recycleables and formulas necessary for their products are imported.
"That is why we emphasised on building high-end cosmetics match for the international industry," he added.
The partnership with Amazon marks the beginning of an exciting new journey that can help promote what Pores and skin Café has to offer consumers worldwide, said Mohammad Abdullah Al Zahid, chief operating officer of Pores and skin Café.
Bangladesh's cosmetics industry witnessed tremendous growth within the last few years. However the majority of the wonder products manufactured in Bangladesh happen to be in the fast-moving consumer goods category.
The wonder product industry has an estimated value of $3.4 billion and can have a rise rate greater than that of the country's GDP for another decade, Zahid explained, adding that the business intends to use its newfound global recognition to help expand boost local demand.
Region71, Bangladesh's lone authorised COMPANY Network for Amazon, managed and supported Skin Café's voyage from Bangladesh to the US.
"We are going to create a sustainable ecosystem for cross-border e-commerce in Bangladesh and Skin area Café gets the vision to exceed borders with their products," explained Md Ahsan Habib, CEO of Area71.
