Bangladesh-EU meeting Thursday
The third foreign office consultation meeting between Bangladesh and European Union (EU) will be held on Thursday (July 19), said Foreign Ministry sources.
Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque will lead the Bangladesh delegation at the meeting while the 7-member EU delegation will be led by its Asia Pacific Division Managing Director Gunnar Wiegand.
Source said the meeting will start at state guest house Padma on Thursday morning.
EU might discuss on Bangladesh’s human rights, labor rights, apparel industry situation, freedom of mass media while Bangladesh has prepared to talk about more cooperation from EU on Rohingya issue, boost in foreign investment and RMG product export.
The first foreign office consultation meeting between Bangladesh and European Union (EU) held in April 2016 in Dhaka. Later the second meeting held on February 15 in 2017 in Brussels while Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Huq led Bangladesh delegation.
