Australia's Usman Khawaja out of tournament: Justin Langer
Usman Khawaja played in all nine of Australia's World Cup group games, scoring two fifties
Australia's Usman Khawaja is out of the World Cup with a hamstring injury, says coach Justin Langer.
Khawaja, who had been batting at number three, picked up the injury during Saturday's defeat by South Africa.
"I feel that sad for him that he's going to miss the World Cup semi-final," said Langer, who added that Matthew Wade would come into the side.
Meanwhile, Marcus Stoinis is an injury doubt for Thursday's semi-final against England at Edgbaston.
Stoinis, who has been struggling with a side strain, was also due to have a scan on Sunday to determine the extent of his injury.
All-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been called up as cover for Stoinis.
Khawaja is the second player to withdraw from Australia's squad after Shaun Marsh broke his arm in training on Thursday.
"It's such a pity for Khawaja, for someone who's been so integral to how we've been playing," said Langer.
"But Matthew Wade is coming in, he's in great form, he's had a great 12 or 18 months back home but he also just scored two hundreds [for Australia A] so he's in great nick.
"Mitch Marsh is going to come in on standby for Marcus Stoinis just to see how he comes up. If they have to come in they'll be ready to step up."
It is a second call-up for Marsh as cover for Stoinis. He had been due to start a four-day game for Australia A against Sussex at Arundel on Sunday.
