Asif Akbar now in a musical film
Singer Asif Akbar has given voice in many songs for Dhallywood film industry. Currently he is literally at the peak of his success as recently he signed Saikat Nasir's film 'VIP' as an actor against Dhallywood heartthrob Mahiya Mahi. Now news is there that he is going to act in a musical film as well.
The musical film titled 'Gohiner Gaan' will be based on nine songs rendered by the singer. Directed by writer and filmmaker Sadat Hossain, the film is being made under Bangladhol's banner. The shooting of first stage of the film has been done already. The shooting took place from August 1-3 at Ashulia's Mamata Palli resort.
The musical film will contain lots of surprise, informed the director. "Asif Akbar himself is a surprise. Tanzika Amin is acting against Asif at the first stage of the film. After Eid-ul-Azha, an A-listed-Dhallywood actress will start working opposite to him. At that time the full cast will be revealed. This, we hope, is going to be a wholly new type of project in Bangladesh," said Sadat Hossain.
About working in a musical film, Asif Akbar said, "For the first time ever, a feature length musical film is being made in Bangladesh, and I am acting in it. I feel very lucky. Our whole unit including me is working really hard. We are trying to present something unique to our audience. I am sure my audience will find a wholly new side of me through this film."
About working with Asif Akbar, Tanzika Amin said, "You will find the proof in this film that Asif Akbar can be an actor. His look in this film is totally different. Besides, while working with him I found out how cooperative he is."
The nine songs rendered by Asif were written by Tarun Munshi, Rajib Ahmed and Sadat Hossain. Tarun Munshi and Pallab Sanyal have composed all the songs. Keeping in minds of the lyrics, the filmmaker has titled the film as 'Gohiner Gaan'.
Earlier, a short musical film titled 'Sarangshe Tumi' based on famous singer and musician Kumar Bishwajit was made under Bangladhol Limited. The short musical film garnered critical response and was selected for screening at the SAARC Film Festival 2017 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
