AL leader Rawshan Ara laid to eternal rest
Past president of Rangpur Pirganj upazila Awami League (AL) unit Rawshan Ara Waheed Rani was first laid to eternal rest in her family graveyard on village Laldighee Fatehpur on Pirganj upazila of Rangpur over Monday afternoon.

She passed away because of old-age issues early Monday at the age of 72.

Rawshan Ara, also Pirganj upazila AL’s advisory council member, breathed her previous at her residence in Laldighee Fatehpur village in Pirganj upazila at 4.30 am, family sources stated.

She was the wife lately Abdul Waheed Kanu Miah, elder brother of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s spouse and late nuclear scientist Dr. MA Wazed Miah.

Rawshan Ara left behind two daughters, two sons, grandchildren and several family members and admirers to mourn her death.

Her first namaz-e-janaza was held at Pirganj Government High School ground at 3:30 pm today.

Her second namaz-e-janaza was held at Enjoyment Sadan ground on the house premises in Laldighee Fatehpur village after Asr prayer.

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, expressed deep shock at the loss of life of Rawshan Ara.

She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Rangpur district AL President Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and its General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju own expressed deep shock and sorrow in the loss of life of Rawshan Ara.

In a joint condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved members of the family.

Rangpur Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate Chhafia Khanam, Rangpur Sadar Upazila Chairman Nasima Zaman Boby, Rangpur metropolis AL President Shafiur Rahman Safi, its Standard Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal, Pirganj upazila AL President Advocate Azizur Rahman Ranga and Pirganj Municipality Mayor Tazimul Islam Shamim likewise mourned her death.
