Actress Nawshaba sued for spreading rumours
Actress Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed has been sued for spreading rumours on social media over Saturday's attack on protesting students.
Md Amirul Islam, DAD of Rapid Action Battalion-1 Crime Prevention Company-2, filed the case under Section 57 of Information and Communication Technology Act.
Earlier on Saturday night, RAB detained the actress from city's Uttara area.
The actress went to Facebook live around 4pm on Saturday and said that the attackers killed two students and gouged out the eyes of another at Jigatala intersection.
In her Facebook live, the actress requested people to get united, take to the streets to 'protect' the students as they were attacked by Chhatra League activists.
The students who were managing the traffic at Jigatala intersection and Mirpur in the city came under attack in the afternoon.
