Abu Saleh Titu's solo express 'Rusty Allure'
Artist Abu Saleh Titu features portrayed the frayed city that is Dhaka and the lived experience of its inhabitants in his solo painting exhibition that's under way in the lobby of the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum. 'I prefer to portray the sorrows and sufferings of mass people living in the administrative centre through my paintings. 

Folks are enjoying the colours of the town. My paintings will give the guests a glimpse in to the relationship between the town and its people and my observations and thoughts about the town,' Abu Saleh Titu explained. 'I also wish to portray the sufferings of females moving into the city. 

The artworks depict deconstructions that continue in the brand of massive urbanization, besides the changes that occur through population influx, pollution etc,' added Titu.The 10-day exhibition titled 'Rusty Allure' features 43 paintings made out of mediums like acrylic and oil. 

The works explore subject concerns including urban women, mechanical love, relationship between cement physical reality and the residents, disconnect involving urban people, frayed roads and others.Ekushey Padak-winning artist Monsur Ul Karim inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest on February 7.

To mention a few gets results, an acrylic painting titled 'Sorrow of Concrete' displays a wall comprising numerous geometrical forms with shattered forms. The wall is normally burning with fire portraying the sufferings of people.

An acrylic painting titled 'Rhythm of City 4' shows congested properties peopled with individual forms while another acrylic titled 'Yellow Love 3' displays a guy lying on bed and a female disrobing. It depicts pragmatic marriage between man and woman in urban existence set against backdrop covered with various colors including white, black and yellow.

An acrylic painting titled 'Blue Women' displays three female statistics clad in saris while their skin area colour takes the colour blue to articulate the sorrows and sufferings of urban women.

An oil painting titled 'Rusty Allure' displays a watch of a city street within the middle of the painting a rickshaw remains parked in which a number of individual figures have emerged jostling on the highway. The two sides of the painting display grey colors buildings.

Abu Saleh Titu was created in Chuadanga in 1969. He accomplished his masters from Bangla department at Dhaka University. The exhibition will stay open till February 16.
