6.0-magnitude quake hits Arica, Chile -- USGS
An earthquake measuring magnitude 6.0 jolted Chilean coastal city Arica at around 3:46 a.m. local time (0846 GMT) on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 32.44 km, was initially determined to be at 18.5597 degrees south latitude and 70.6504 degrees west longitude.
Arica is in northern Chile, at the border with Peru. No injuries or damage have been reported so far.
The last deadly earthquake reported in Chile was on Jan. 20 when at least two people were killed after a 6.7-magnitude earthquake hit the northern Chile's Coquimbo region.
