5 upcoming WhatsApp features you should know about
WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app out there, despite countless challengers and rivals. While the app is extremely simple to use and master, one of the main reasons WhatsApp stands out amongst the competition is the constant implementation of useful features.

WhatsApp is always testing new features in its beta versions and whatever receives good feedback makes it to the stable builds used by over a billion people worldwide. Now the app is developing these five features that will soon make their way to the stable builds.

1. Dark Mode
Dark mode is something that has been coming to all Operating systems, OEM-based Android skins, and even individual apps. With many social media apps getting support for the black/dark theme that is more easy on the eyes, WhatsApp is developing its own dark mode too. While there isn’t any official announcement yet, WABetaInfo reports suggest that we could soon have our first look at WhatsApp’s Dark Mode.

2. iPad Support
WhatsApp is also working on support for iPads and this is another feature we could soon see. However, according to the reports, WhatsApp for iPad will not be very different from the app’s smartphone version. "WhatsApp for iPad has exactly the same features of the main app, but with an iPad UI compatibility," says the report.

3. Delete Messages
WhatsApp is also working on the Delete message feature which came to light recently. The feature allows messages to automatically delete after a specific time period decided by the sender. Available in both private and group chats, the feature has already come to beta builds and could come to stable builds soon.

4. New splash screen
After adding a WhatsApp from Facebook to the splash screen, the company has now made further adjustments to the page and we are likely to see more changes soon.

5. Blocked contact notice
Another new WhatsApp feature that the company is working on will let you know if the contact whose chatbox you’re in is blocked by you. The small bubble will also allow you to quickly unblock the contact.
