4G spectrum auction Tuesday
DHAKA: Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) will hold auction of 4G spectrum for mobile phone operators on Tuesday (February 13).
The auction will be held around 11:00am at Dhaka Club.
BTRC said the auction will be held for spectrums of 2100 MHz, 1800 MHz and 900 MHz. The commission believes that buying the 4G spectrums will boost service quality of the phone operators.
BTRC chairman Dr. Shahjahan Mahmud said the details will be disclosed at a press conference after the auction.
Earlier on Jan 14, BTRC chairman said five operators- Teletalk, Grameenphone, Banglalink, Citycell and Robi- have applied for the 4G auction.
After the auction, the winner among the participators will be announced on February 14.
